RICHMOND HILL, GA – April 21, 2016 At a regular weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill, Watershed Outreach Coordinator Jesse Demonbreun-Chapman presented an update about the outreach programs of the local non-profit organization Ogeechee Riverkeeper, which is tasked with protecting, preserving and improving the Ogeechee, Canoochee and coastal rivers.
Demonbreun-Chapman entertained the club with photos of Ogeechee Riverkeeper’s important work in the community. He commented “our educational outreach program is one of our most important because we have to educate our youth about the changes they need to make to ensure the river remains clean and healthy for us all.” He also encouraged members to join the organization and enjoy taking part in monthly paddle trips at no cost beyond their original membership. “It’s a great, inexpensive way to experience so much natural beauty in a short period of time and we have kayaks and canoes available to rent if you don’t have your own boat. We expect some big groups to hit the water with us, and it should be a lot of fun.”
